The Saïd Business School, Oxford


The Saïd Business School is an academic department and the business school of the University of Oxford. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to the water services external pipework. Over 650 metres of type FBT self regulating heating cable was installed to complete the system.

Libanus Primary School, Caerphilly

Designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the schools chilled water pipework. Type VC constant wattage heating cable was used throughout this contract.

St James Hospital, Leeds

ESH installed Raychem FS-C-2X and FS-A-2X heating cable to the hospitals pathology department as per clients specification. The heating systems were controlled by Raychem ECO Control 10 pipe sensing thermostats.

Greenvale AP Ltd, Market Drayton

ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating and thermal insulation system to the following pipework within this fresh potato packing site:

  • Press pump and associated pipe
  • High level pipe by hydrocyclones 
  • Plastic pipe to recycle tank
  • Limewash pipe
  • Coalgulating dosing pipe
  • Regulating pumps and pipes

St. Bart's Hospital, London

One of the largest heart rhythm centres in the world, here ESH were contracted to design, supply, install and commission a trace heating system to provide frost protection to the following externally mounted pipework:

  • 786 metres of LTHW / AHU / RR pipework across levels 5, 6 and 7
  • 70 metres of chilled water pipework across levels 5, 6 and 7
  • 30 metres of basic cold water system pipework on level 5

Type VC constant wattage heating cable was installed throughout this project.

Denco Lubrication, Herefordshire

Supplied and installed a trace heating and thermal insulation system to frost protect pipework within two skids. Our design calculations were based on maintaining +10°C against a minimum ambient temperature of -42°C.

Adlington WWTW

At this waste water treatment works, ESH were contracted to supply and install a 110v self regulating trace heating system to provide frost protection. The trace heating circuits were controlled using type JBT air sensing thermostats.

Toyota Manufacturing UK, Derby

Within this massive car manufacturing unit, ESH designed, supplied and installed a process temperature maintenance system in order to maintain a run of adhesive supply pipework at +35°C. Type SC constant wattage trace heating cable was used during this project.

MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge

The LMB is a purpose built building for the Medical Research Council, providing first class facilities to some of the world's leading scientists. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to both the hot and cold water services pipework. Type FBT self regulating heating cable was utilising throughout this project.

Thorne WTW

Type FBT self regulating heating tape was straight traced underneath 65mm, 40mm and 25mm NB UPVC pipework to provide frost protection. This self regulating system was designed, supplied and installed by ESH.

ASDA Store, Llandudno

Here ESH were contracted to test the existing constant wattage trace heating system already installed and repair any damaged sections with similar tape. 50m of tape had to be replaced due to on site damage coursed by others.

Factories 1 & 2, Wrexham Industrial Estate

ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection system to pipework and three tank conical bases. The tanks included two sludge tanks and one hot water tank.
