The Kingsway Tunnel (or Wallasey Tunnel) is a 1.5 mile tunnel under the River Mersey. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to the water pipework in the hydrant stations underneath the main road in the tunnel. This large scale project required over 2.2km of constant wattage heating cable in total.
