Ikea, Wednesbury

A true retailing giant! Within Ikea's gigantic Wednsebury store, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install two separate trace heating systems:

  • System one was for the frost protection of over 200 metres of cold water pipework
  • System two for the hot water temperature maintenance of over 250 metres of DHWS pipework 

Self regulating heating cable was installed on both circuits, type FBT for frost protection and type H2OWAT for temperature maintenance.

Robinson Brothers Ltd, West Bromwich

Within this chemical manufacturing plant which was deemed to be electrically hazardous, ESH supplied and installed an ATEX Certified trace heating system to provide frost protection to a large section of steel pipework. The system was designed using our ATEX Approved constant wattage heating tape SCBX and controlled with an explosive atmosphere air sensing thermostat. 



Mellor Community Primary School, Leicester

ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection system to a run of plastic pipework associated with the air handling unit. Over 200 metres of type VCB constant wattage trace heating cable was installed throughout this project.

Designed and supplied materials, tools and labour to install and commission a trace heating system to frost protect external pipework.

Holy Springs School, Bracknell

Within this small junior school, ESH supplied and installed a trace heating system to provide hot water temperature maintenance to the HWS pipework. The pipework required maintaining at +55°C and this was achieved using type H2OWAT self regulating heating cable.

Lister Hospital - Stevenage

ESH were contracted to design and supply materials and labour to install multiple ramp trace heating systems, utilising self regulating heating tape to prevent snow settlement and ice formation on the hospitals multi storey car park.

To achieve this a loading of 180 watts per m² was required, by using heating tape rated at 30 w/m set to 150-200mm spacing, this gave us an installed length of 6m of heating tape per m² of ramp floor area. 

In total over 1500 metres of type FBT self regulating heating tape was installed throughout this project.

Hampshire Council Project

This project for Hampshire Council involved designing, supplying materials, and labour to install a trace heating system to frost protect multiple vessels across five depot sites.

Fullers Griffin Brewery, London

A brewery that dates back to 1828 and the home of London Pride and other award winning ales. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a process temperature maintenance trace heating system to a large storage tank. The tank was required to maintain +85°in a minimum ambient of +5°C. Type VC constant wattage heating cable was installed throughout this project.

QVC Head Office, Chiswick




When the shopping channel QVC moved to their new head offices in Chiswick, all pipework on the roof area required protecting against frost. ESH designed, supplied and installed the freeze protection trace heating system which required over 830 metres of self regulating heating tape in total.
