Here ESH were contracted to test the existing constant wattage trace heating system already installed and repair any damaged sections with similar tape. 50m of tape had to be replaced due to on site damage coursed by others.

ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection system to pipework and three tank conical bases. The tanks included two sludge tanks and one hot water tank.

Kings College, London

King's is one of the world's leading research and teaching universities based in the heart of London. This trace heating project was split into two sections:

• The frost protection of the cold and chilled water services using type FBT self regulating cable

• Provide hot water temperature maintenance of +65°C to the heating pipework using type H2OWAT65 heating cable

Supplied the hospital with our trace heating monitoring and automatic switch over units. 

Lister Hospital - Stevenage

ESH were contracted to design and supply materials and labour to install multiple ramp trace heating systems, utilising self regulating heating tape to prevent snow settlement and ice formation on the hospitals multi storey car park.

To achieve this a loading of 180 watts per m² was required, by using heating tape rated at 30 w/m set to 150-200mm spacing, this gave us an installed length of 6m of heating tape per m² of ramp floor area. 

In total over 1500 metres of type FBT self regulating heating tape was installed throughout this project.

A brewery that dates back to 1828 and the home of London Pride and other award winning ales. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a process temperature maintenance trace heating system to a large storage tank. The tank was required to maintain +85°C in a minimum ambient of +5°C. Type VC constant wattage heating cable was installed throughout this project.

University of Wolverhampton Performance Hub

The University of Wolverhampton's school of sports, performing arts and leisure. Here ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the external BCWS and CHW pipework on the buildings roof and ground floor.

Kingsway Tunnel, Liverpool

The Kingsway Tunnel (or Wallasey Tunnel) is a 1.5 mile tunnel under the River Mersey. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to the water pipework in the hydrant stations underneath the main road in the tunnel. 

This large scale project required over 2.2km of constant wattage heating cable in total.

Runways End Activity Centre, Aldershot

Provided frost protection to the BCWS pipework in the canoe building and the BCWS and rainwater pipe in the camping building. Overall we supplied and installed constant wattage heating cable to cover 200m of metal pipework.

Dartmouth Park Pavilion, West Bromwich

As part of the £6.3m restoration of West Bromwich's Dartmouth Park Pavilion, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install two separate trace heating systems:

• To temperature maintain the internal domestic hot water services pipework at +55°C

• Provide frost protection to the external chilled water pipework

UEL Primary School, Barking

To design, supply materials and labour to install, test and commission a trace heating and thermal insulation system to provide frost protection to sprinkler pipework.

Jaguar Landrover, Gaydon

ESH deigned and supplied a constant wattage trace heating system for the prevention of frost to external pipework. Installed by others on site.

London Dance Academy, Central Street (The Basement)

Finally a project which would allow our installation engineers to throw some shapes whilst working. For this large project, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a trace heating system to frost protect pipework up to 150mm NB. 

The pipework in question comprised of the sprinkler and boosted cold water pipes in the tank room and car park areas.

In total ESH installed just under 2000 metres of type VC constant wattage trace heating cable.

One Hyde Park, London

One Hyde Park is a major residential and retail complex located in Knightsbridge, London. With prices ranging from £3.6 million for a one-bedroom flat to £136 million for a penthouse apartment, this truly was a breathtaking project to be apart of.

ESH were contacted to design, supply and install a hot water temperature maintenance trace heating system to the hot water services pipework, within the penthouse apartments.

In total over 650 metres of H2OWAT self regulating heating cable was installed to achieve the required temperature of +55°C.

Within this large data centre, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to frost protect 8 sets of water cylinders. Each set comprises two adjacent steel bottles approximately 1.7m tall, 350mm diameter mounted in a steel cabinet, together with 1m of interconnecting pipework. Type VC constant wattage heating tape was installed throughout this project.

This grand looking building is owned by the University of Manchester and is used as a conference venue. Here ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system for the 54mm process cooling water and 28mm DI circuit pipework. Within Lightmoor Village, Bournville House is a 'Extra Care Housing' building offering traditional sheltered housing. For this project ESH supplied and installed 825m of H2OWAT65 self limiting trace heating tape to the HWS pipework in order to maintain the temperature at +65°C.

Student Accommodation - Bagot Street, Birmingham 
55m of DHWS pipework was supplied and installed with a frost protecting trace heating system.

Finzel Reach - Bristol
Finzel Reach was a £255m project to turn the former Courage Brewery site into homes, offices and shops. Here ESH supplied and installed two systems: 

• Frost protection of copper pipework in the basement area, this required 200m of type FBT self limiting heating tape. 
• To temperature maintain the DHWS pipework both within the basement area and five identical washrooms on various levels, 350m of H2OWAT55 self limiting heating tape installed.

Weatherford Laboratories - Abu Dhabi
Designed and supplied 2 x custom made heating jackets 45mm I.D, 1500mm long, 25mm insulation, 500 watts, 240v.

Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre - Oxford
Within the biomedical research unit, ESH supplied materials and labour to install, test and commission a trace heating system to maintain a temperature of +55°C on the hot water services pipework. In total 120m of H2OWAT55 self regulating heating tape was required.

For this project ESH supplied and installed 40m of frost protection trace heating within the water plantroom.

Travel Lodge - Covent Garden
After installing over 1300m of tape here last January, ESH were back to install an additional 25m of H2OWAT55 within the 6th floor kitchen area of the hotel.

Allied Tanks - Birmingham
ESH supplied and installed trace heating to temperature maintain a steel tank, 2.5m diameter and 6.5m tall, at +30°C. This required 140m of type VC constant wattage heating tape.

This large project involved ESH suppling and installing both trace heating and thermal insulation to the following stainlees steel pipework: 

• PPA pipework - This pipework needed to maintain a temperature of +110°C which required 540m of type SCB constant wattage heating tape
• TEA pipework - Required to maintain a temperature of +40°C, 95m of type SCB constant wattage tape installed
• Caustic soda pipework - 155m of type SCB constant wattage heating tape was required in order to maintain the required temperature of +30°C
• Reactor pipework - This pipework needed to maintain a temperature of +70°C and required 55m of type SCB tape to achieve this

Queens Hospital - Burton On Trent
